In the mainland, especially the Seoul Metropolitan City (in Korean: Seoul teuk-byeol-si) subway is used by everyone in everyday life because of the sophisticated system where you can get off in several stops in a route but it will not charge you high. However, Jeju doesn’t have subway system as the transportation system is not as sophisticated as the mainland probably because they want Jeju to retain its vast green landscape throughout the island. Transportations in Jeju

Instead of subway, there are several transportation available in Jeju island. You can either call a taxi or rent the taxi for a day (it will probably cost you pretty high), rent a car to drive it yourself, or take the bus. There is also an airport bus limousine that will cover the routes to major hotels and resorts in Jeju. Renting a car is the most convinient way of travelling in Jeju. The car is equipped with navigation system so you don’t have to worry about getting lost in your way. You just have to be careful to the car speed limit if you don’t want to get arrested or get a speeding ticket. Bus is another alternative if you don’t have access to a car. However bus is not the most convinient way for foreign tourists to travel in Jeju. Even most of Korean people themselves are having problems to figure how it works. The schedule is complicated and written in Korean. Moreover, the stop destination is too far in between and if you want to go to a place in between two stops, you will have to walk extra or get a hitchhike. If possible, its recommended to travel by car instead of looking for Jeju subway map.
